Troubleshooting


Problem

Users get this error while login to Planning Analytics For Excel :
"The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found"
Validate action on Planning Analytics Workspace Admin tool returns the following error for TM1 Application Server Gateway URI :
"Error:Server responded with status code 404"
TM1 Admin Server URI and TM1 login Server URI validate successfully

Environment

Planning Analytics For Excel 2.0.44
Planning Analytics Workspace Local 2.0.44
Planning Analytics Local 2.0.8

Diagnosing The Problem

Following error in tm1_messages.log :
 
" com.ibm.ws.app.manager.esa.internal.DeploySubsystemAction   A CWWKZ0403E: A management exception was generated when trying to install the application pmhub.app into an OSGi framework. The error text from the OSGi framework is: java.lang.NullPointerException "

Resolving The Problem

1) Open Planning Analytics Cognos Configuration as "Run As Administrator" and  stop "IBM Cognos TM1" service
 
2) Locate and rename workarea folder to be workarea_old  (folder location <install directory>\tm1_64\wlp\usr\servers\tm1\workarea)
 
3) Start "IBM Cognos TM1" service.
    This will regenerate workarea folder
 
4) Open the browser and clear cache and temporary internet files .
 
5) Open the Admin tool and validate.
