Issue

The following Remote Supervisor Adapter (RSA) event may be logged:

This is working as designed.

The server containing this RSA event log is recording an event from another node connected by scalability cables. The actual fault has occurred on one of the member nodes. To determine the issue, the system event log of the remote node should be analyzed. This can be determined by examining the remote link events.

In the following example, a memory DIMM failure on Node 1 of a four node configuration occurred. Node 1 records the error event. Nodes 2, 3 and 4 also detected the error and records the event as a Remote Node event, along with the link the error was transmitted across.

The user can trace the scalability cable to the failing system. If viewing the RSA log of Node 2, the SPINT event was reported across link 3. The scalability cable connects from link/port 3 of Node 2 to link/port 3 of Node 1. Refer to the User's Guide or Problem Determination and Support Guide for supported cable diagrams.

Note: Unless other cable or scalability port issues are detected, replacement of scalability cables or the scalability cartridge should not be required.
