System requirements and installation

Known issues

  • R libraries with macOS Big Sur Beta
Due to a known issue in the macOS Big Sur Beta, IBM SPSS Statistics fails to load R libraries when you attempt to run R extensions or any R plug-in syntax. The workaround is to rename the libc++.1.dylib and libc++abi.1.dylib libraries that are located under the R 3.6 lib folder (for example, /Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/3.6/Resources/lib). Renaming the libraries prevents older R library versions from loading and ensures that the correct system libraries are loaded.
  • Connection failure with Gskit SSL and IBM SPSS Statistics Server
Using Deployment Manager to connect to the IBM SPSS Statistics Server results in a connection failure when Gskit SSL is enabled on Linux/zlinux/pLinux server. The workaround is to disable SSL, or manually configure the server's statisticsd.conf configuration file, which is located under the server installation directory.
