Problem
When using IBM® Rational® Robot, testing an application in Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) may have either of the following errors when closing the IE6 browser on a machine that has the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework installed.
Symptom
Testing an application in Internet Explorer 6 may have either of the following errors when closing the browser:
GDI+ Window: iexplore.exe - Application Error
or
SQA Spy: iexplore.exe - Application Error
or
Resolving The Problem
To resolve this issue, in Robot -> Tools -> Extension Manager, uncheck all extensions that are not being used, particularly the Microsoft .NET extension. Restart Robot to have these changes take effect.
