Most of the products above also offer Authorized User licenses for which a license server does not need to be used.
Token licenses also require the use of the IBM Rational License Key Server.
Note for Rational License Key Server v8.1.x:
- Rational License Key Server v 8.1.x is backward compatible with all shipping versions of Rational products that use FLEXlm based licensing. Therefore it is recommended to always have the latest version of the IBM Rational License Key Server installed.
- You cannot install Rational License Key Server version 8.1.x on the same server that still has Rational License Server 7.1.x, or earlier installed.
- If you are upgrading a pre-7.1.2 version of Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest or Rational RequisitePro to a later version, then you must upgrade the license server to version 8.1.x.
- As of Rational License Key Server version 8.1.1, the individual Rational TL (Telelogic) License Server has been integrated with the Rational License Key Server. Review the following technotes for more details:
- If v8.1.x is used as the license server, the license files require just one VENDOR line: VENDOR ibmratl , which can serve all license features that were previously served by the rational and telelogic vendor daemons.
