Notes:
1. Library capacity - Base full-rack module and with 20 expansion rack modules.
- 1 - 192 Full-Height LTO Drives
- 24 - 1,104 I/E Slots (Mail Slots)
- 100 - 12,600 Storage Slots
2. Barcodes are required.
3. Eight-character barcodes are required. The last 2 characters must be the media identifier "L#" where # is the tape cartridge generation. For example, ABC456L8 for an LTO-8 cartridge. Without a proper barcode label, a volume will appear as "unknown media".
4. ELEMent=AUTODetect in the DEFINE/UPDATE DRIVE command is supported.
5. Quantum Scaler i6000 supports mixed generation LTO drives in the same partition.
6. IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager (SKLM/GKLM) supports Quantum Scalar i6000.
7. Quantum Scalar i6000 Library Managed Encryption solutions are supported as follows:
- Quantum Encryption Key Manager (Q-EKM) supports IBM LTO4 drives
- Quantum Scalar Key Manager (SKM) supports HP Ultrium 4 drives
8. To allow Quantum EKM or Quantum SKM to manage encryption keys, set the DRIVEEncryption option for DEVCLASS to ALLOW.
9. Quantum Scalar i6000 is supported with all drives supported in Quantum Scalar i2000 when it is upgraded from Quantum Scalar i2000. Quantum Scalar i6000 is also available with the following drives.
- HP Ultrium 5-SCSI
- IBM ULTRIUM-TD5
- HP Ultrium 6-SCSI
- IBM ULTRIUM-TD6
- IBM ULTRIUM-TD7
- IBM ULTRIUM-TD8
- IBM ULTRIUM-TD9
- Ultrium 7 (LTO-7) support requires IBM Spectrum Protect version 7.1.4 or subsequent maintenance release
- Ultrium 8 (LTO-8) support requires IBM Spectrum Protect version 8.1.4 or subsequent maintenance release
- Ultrium 9 (LTO-9) support requires IBM Spectrum Protect version 8.1.14.100 or subsequent maintenance release
- SETOPT CHECKTAPEPOS TSMonly
11. Technote 1652118 - Quantum Advanced Path Failover is supported with firmware version i12 ( 680Q.GS24401 ) or later.
12. Purchased license key is required for IBM Control Path Failover(CPF) Support for Tape Libraries, and IBM Data Path Failover(DPF) and Load Balancing Support for Tape Drives. Both CPF and DPF require the use of the IBM device driver and IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1.12 or previous releases.
