Troubleshooting


Problem

After reboot, receive error "single-bit ECC errors were detected during the previous boot of the RAID controller."

Symptom

"Single-bit ECC errors were detected during the previous boot of the RAID controller. The DIMM on the controller needs replacement. Please contact technical support to resolve this issue. Press ‘X’ to continue or else power off the system and replace the DIMM module and reboot. If you have replaced the DIMM press ‘X’ to continue."

Cause

Possibly a false error due to the out-of-date firmware and issues that are already resolved in the latest firmware.

Resolving The Problem

  1. Attempt to continue the boot by pressing ‘X’.
  2. If the server boots successfully, update the firmware.
Result
The server reboots, and the new firmware prevents the false positive on reboot. If you continue to have error "Single-bit ECC errors were detected during the previous boot of the RAID controller", contact support
