QRadar: Enabling passphrase in SSL certificate, could cause QRM Risk tab to go blank

Question & Answer

Question

Why is the QRadar Risk Manager (QRM) Risk tab blank in the Console?

Answer

If you use your own SSL certificate and the passphrase requirement for the private key is enabled, every time tomcat-rm is restarted in QRM (due to a deployment), it can cause the Risk tab to go blank and not load.

This issue is because tomcat-rm is responsible for starting HTTPd. The HTTPd service is expecting a passphrase to be inserted and usually does not start, which causes the QRM tab to remain blank. If HTTPd service is manually started on the QRM box from command line, and a passphrase is entered, the Risk tab starts to load and populate information.
