Problem
This document describes the functions provided by the Internals menu in QMGTOOLS.
Resolving The Problem
The Internals menu currently has these listed data collections (as more are added, this document is updated to reflect it).
Installing QMGTOOLS
To access Internals menu, go to the MG menu via GO QMGTOOLS/MG command. From there, choose menu option for the Internals menu.

Auxiliary Storage Summary
Display UPS status
SYSBASE PERM SM size
This option calculates the SYSBASE permanent directory size. An example of how this size is used for is calculating how much memory is needed for an ASP balance :

Note: This option can be run from a command line : CALL QMGTOOLS/GETPERMSM

Signon user ID/pass | Signon information to OS/400 system |
Verify signon user pass | Verify password for signon to OS/400 system |
SST user ID | SST signon information |
SST verify user password | Verify password for SST signon |
If the command is successful, then something like this would be presented to the user.
Internals SYSSNAP Collection
Start Piranha
This option is used by IBM i Software Support
ASMI/Piranha access on HMC
This option is used by IBM i Software Support
Piranha to IBM i using SSH
This option is used by IBM i Software Support
Verify storage
Display Platform Information
This option displays platform level information including:
- Machine type, model, serial number & processor group
- Server firmware level, firmware IPL side, update policy and expiration date
- System manager (HMC, VPM, or stand-alone)
- Power Enterprise Pool (PEP) type
- Capacity on demand processors and memory
