***PLEASE NOTE: This feature requires the 6.30 MaaS360 for Android Agent currently in beta and slated for release in early October)***

MaaS360 now supports a new configuration option that allows users to set a custom device name for the device that enrolls via Zero-touch (KME + DO, non-Samsung + DO) and QR code for work-managed device enrollments.

To add a custom device name,

  1. Navigate to Devices > Enrollments.
Result: The Enrollments page is displayed.
  2. Click Other Enrollment Options and then click Android Enterprise Zero Touch Enrollment/QR code for work managed device provisioning.

  1. Enable Prompt for Device Name option and then click Save.

Agent side behavior

When this option is selected, the admin/user who is provisioning MaaS360 on the device will be prompted for Device name. If this option is unchecked, the platform will use information from the device to create device name.
