How can I remove the integration for the IBM® Rational® ClearCase® Remote Client (CCRC) plug-in for VS .NET 2005?
Answer
Removing the CCRC plug-in for VS .NET 2005 may become necessary if there is no longer a need to use this integration or if there is a need to use the full client integration of ClearCase.
The following are the steps needed to remove the integration:
- Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
- Locate and select the IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client for VS .NET from the menu and click Remove.
Note: Depending on what version of the plug-in you have installed, you may see “v7.0” or “v7.0.1 appended to the end of the plug-in name within the menu.
- Select Yes if prompted with the question below.
- Continue to follow the menu options to uninstall the CCRC plug-in for VS .NET 2005 using the Uninstall Shield Wizard, if prompted.
- Once the un-installation process has completed, locate the following directory on the client system and delete it to ensure a complete and clean removal of the CCRC plug-in directory.
C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\CCRCVSI
- When you open the VS .NET 2005 IDE, you should no longer see the “ClearCase” menu option at that top menu bar or a “Front Desk” tab next to the “Start Page” tab.
