Preventing the creation of Unreferenced elements in IBM Rhapsody

Question & Answer

Question

How can I prevent the creation of Unreferenced elements in Rhapsody?

Cause

Deleting elements that have references that are not loaded within the model.

Answer

If you try to delete elements that have references in read-only files, Rhapsody issues a warning that the deletion will result in unresolved references in the model unless the files are made writable.

The dialog that is displayed lets you choose from among three possible actions:

  1. Check out the read-only files
  2. Make the files read/write
  3. Ignore

You can disable the "Ignore" option by setting the property General::Model::DisableIgnoreReadOnlyFilesOption equal to True.
