Problem

Before upgrading your preloaded operating system to Windows 2000, it is recommended that the following applications be uninstalled prior to beginning the upgrade process.

Resolving The Problem

Before upgrading your preloaded operating system to Microsoft Windows 2000, it is recommended that the following applications be uninstalled prior to beginning the upgrade process. These applications may be either preinstalled from the factory, downloaded via the Internet, or installed from the Software Selections CDROM included with the system:

  • IBM 10/100 Ethernet drivers & IBMSet Application
  • IBM IntelliStation FireGL display adapter drivers
  • IBM System Management Tools
  • IBM UMA Plus
  • ConfigSafe
  • IBM Internet Connection
  • CoSession and/or CoSession Remote 32
  • LANDesk Client Manager
  • PC System Manager (part of System Management Tools)
  • Adaptec "EZ SCSI" Utilities
  • IBM Utilities (The Welcome Center)
  • IBM ClientCare Setup
  • IBM UM Services
  • Norton AntiVirus for IBM (Windows 9.x / NT)
  • Netfinity 5.x and TME 10 Netfinity
  • Artisoft iShare (Windows 9X/NT)
  • Windows 2000 upgrades for ConfigSafe can be obtained at the following Internet URL address:
