Troubleshooting
Problem
Open the WAS Admin Console in an Internet Explorer 11 browser. Go to Users and Groups -> Administrative User Roles and try to add a role. The error message below is displayed, even though a role has already been selected.
Symptom
Please select a role
Environment
This has been reproduced on IE 11 and WAS 8.5.0.2, but it may be reproducible on other versions also.
Resolving The Problem
The WAS admin console URL has to be added to the "Compatibility View list" in the IE 11 settings. After that the roles can be edited successfully.
To add a site to the Compatibility View list:
1. Open the desktop, and click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
2. Select the Tools button , and then choose Compatibility View settings.
3. Under Add this website, enter the URL of the site you want to add to the list, and then select Add.
