PH15332 reports incorrect values when using z/OS Connect EE API toolkit array counter functionality

Flashes (Alerts)

Abstract

Running multiple concurrent requests that exploit the array counter functionality shipped in z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (EE) API toolkit releases V3.0.6.7 and V3.2.6.7 can cause incorrect values to be used.

Content

z/OS Connect EE API toolkit releases V3.0.6.7 and V3.2.6.7  provided new functionality to allow numeric service fields to be defined as counters for fixed and variable-length arrays. These array counters are used to optimize both the necessary service data required for an API request, as well as the JSON payload issued from an API response.
APAR PH15332 has been opened to address a problem where concurrent transactions running the new array counter functionality can result in incorrect values being used.  It is recommended that you do not use the array counter functionality in production until the fix for APAR PH15332 is delivered in a CD PTF and the fix has been applied to the z/OS Connect EE server.
