Troubleshooting
Problem
The Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) slot number with different kind of riser is defined in the User's Guide. However, in the logs reported by the Integrated Management Module (IMM) or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), the bottom slot could mismatch with the User's Guide. For example, with Type3 PCI riser installed, the bottom slot is defined as slot3, but IMM could report it as slot2. This is a mismatch of information with no functional impact. Refreshing the IMM codef i xes this symptom.

Symptom
The Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) slot number with a different kind of riser is defined in the User's Guide.
However, in the logs reported by the Integrated Management Module (IMM) or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), the bottom slot could mismatch with the User's Guide. For example, with a Type3 PCI riser installed, the bottom slot is defined as slot3, but IMM could report it as slot2.
This is a mismatch of information with no functional impact. Refreshing the IMM code fixes this symptom.
Affected configurations
The system can be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3650 M5, type 5462, any model
This tip is not software specific.
This tip is not option specific.
Workaround
This is a mismatch of information with no functional impact. Refreshing the IMM code fixes this symptom.
Additional information
The slot number reporting is associated with the IMM architecture and PCI riser circuitry. The root cause is that the I2C bus number connecting to the multiplexer does not match the User's Guide definition. Refreshing IMM code fixes this symptom.
