Pausing and restarting a reindex in Lifecycle Query Index for Jazz reporting Service

Question & Answer

Question

Can you pause and restart a reindex in Lifecycle Query Index (LQE) for IBM Jazz Reporting Service (JRS)?

Cause

When you are working with very large databases a reindex in LQE can take a considerable amount of time. This may clash with other operations and it may be needed to pause the index to get other jobs completed.

Answer

No, is not possible to pause/stop a reindex. The data in a Tracked Resource Set (TRS) feed is not always processed sequentially, and the information about what still needs to be indexed is stored in memory, and is lost on shutdown.
