About the new Gigabit Ethernet SX Server Adapter

The new Gigabit Ethernet SX Server Adapter 06P3701 is a second generation 1000Base-SX Adapter
based on Intel latest 82543 technology.

This adapter provides high performance 1000Base-SX connectivity and conforms to the IEEE 802.3z standard.

Key features and standards supported by the adapter:

• Based on Intel PRO/1000F Server Adapter PWLA8490SX
• Utilizes 64 bit Direct Bus Mastering on the PCI Bus
• PCI 2.2 supporting 32/64-bit and 33/66 MHz Bus
• Provides 1000Mbps throughput on multi-mode fiber optics networks
• Conforms to IEEE 802.3u and 802.3z
• The 82543 LAN controller has 64KB on chip FIFO to increase efficiency
• ACPI compliant
• Optional ROM socket future Remote Boot need
• Supports DAC 64-bit Addressing for system with > 4GB memory
• Supports Jumbo Frames at size up to 9000 bytes
• Supports TCP, UDP, and IP protocol offloading Standard Serial Link Interface to IEEE 802.3z PMA and
