Troubleshooting
Problem
If you are installing WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile with the -imcl command, you might encounter problems. If you are connecting to the Liberty repository and specifying any user.property with the -properties and -useServiceRepository parameters, you might receive an error message similar to the following example message: ERROR: java.lang.NullPointerException
Environment
This problem occurs with IBM Installation Manager Version 1.7.1, 1.7.2, and 1.7.3.
Resolving The Problem
Choose from the following options to resolve this problem:
- Specify the command without the -properties parameter.
- Specify the command without the -useServiceRepository parameter, and instead add the service repository URL:
- Update to the latest version of IBM Installation Manager. This issue is resolved in IBM Installation Manager Version 1.8 and later.
