Title:

IBM is working to transform our tools for GDPR compliance. On 24 May 2018 both the IBM Boulder testcase and ECuRep servers will change to require an authenticated log-in using an IBM Support File Transfer ID and password (token), and will support only secure protocols.

Users Affected:

All users on all platforms that upload problem-related documentation to IBM using the ECuRep or Boulder testcase servers. IBM is making updates for GDPR compliance starting on 24 May 2018. This alert is to ensure all users that upload problem-related documentation to IBM using the ECuRep or Boulder testcase servers are aware of the changes.

Description:

Effective 24 May 2018, all uploads of documentation to either the IBM Boulder testcase or ECuRep servers will require an IBM Support File Transfer ID and password (token), and must use a secure transport protocol, such as FTPS. Unsecured FTP will be eliminated.

Recommended Actions:

Prior to the IBM changes on 24 May 2018, or the next time you need to send documentation to IBM:
  1. Ensure you have secure transport protocols in place, such as FTPS, and procedures for using the secure transport, including updates to existing JCL, jobs, or tools including PDUU and z/OSMF.
  2. Create an IBM Support File Transfer ID. Links to create an IBM Support File Transfer ID and other related information on sending documentation to IBM will be available at http://public.dhe.ibm.com/SupportFileTransferDetails.html. Creating an IBM Support File Transfer ID requires an IBMid, so if you do not already have an IBMid follow the instructions at https://www.ibm.com/account/us-en/signup/register.html to create an IBMid.
  3. Change existing JCL, jobs, or tools including PDUU and z/OSMF, to use the new IBM Support File Transfer ID and password (token) instead of anonymous and any password.
  4. The hostname for using FTPS to ECuRep changes from ftp.ecurep.ibm.com to ftps.ecurep.ibm.com.

Timing:

Authenticated log-in requiring an IBM Support File Transfer ID and password (token) instead of anonymous and any password, and use of only secure protocols will occur on 24 May 2018.

Changing from FTP to FTPS can be done at any time. The Boulder testcase and ECuRep servers both currently support FTPS, SFTP and HTTPS protocols.
