Troubleshooting
Problem
You have configured Planning Analytics Administration Alerts however the alerts are not working as expected.
Environment
Planning Analytics Administration alerts use the Planning Analytics Administration Agent service (located where your TM1 Servers are running) for alerting.
-The Agent will assist in gathering TM1 Server related detail.
-The Agent is also responsible for the email notifications.
-The Agent is configurable via the <install dir>\tm1_64\paa_agent\wlp\usr\servers\kate-agent\bootstrap.properties file.

Diagnosing The Problem
Should you encounter any problems with Planning Analytics Administration Alerts, please review the following log file:
<install dir>\tm1_64\paa_agent\wlp\usr\servers\kate-agent\logs\messages.log
<install dir>\tm1_64\paa_agent\wlp\usr\servers\kate-agent\logs\messages.log
This log file may contain errors related to your notifications. For example, if your SMTP server has not been configured correctly you may see:
[6/6/19 14:21:31:622 EDT] 000001da com.ibm.pa.kate.agent.util.PAKateNotificationEmailUtil E Exception occurred while sending smtp email com.sun.mail.util.MailConnectException: Couldn't connect to host, port: servername.domain.com, 25; timeout -1;

java.net.UnknownHostException: servername.domain.com

Resolving The Problem
To resolve the specific example in this document, you would need to update the <install dir>\tm1_64\paa_agent\wlp\usr\servers\kate-agent\bootstrap.properties file. You would need to ensure that the SMTP_EMAIL_PORT and SMTP_EMAIL_HOST settings are correct.
