Question
When establishing a data source (SAP BW) connection to IBM Cognos Framework Manager, a user cannot see Advanced Data Store Objects (aDSOs) and/or Data Store Objects (DSOs) in Project Viewer. A user has granted permissions but can only see Composite Provider(InfoCube). Is there a way to see aDSOs and DSOs in Framework Manager?
Answer
They cannot be seen in Framework Manager as it is not designed to support them. They have to be used either in an SAP cube or in SAP query to be able to get it this way into Framework Manager. DSOs, in particular when having large data amounts are not recommended to be used in queries, as this may cost performance. IBM can import only InfoCubes (including the type of multiprovider, remote, virtual) and SAP queries.
