Problem
Error occurs at the and of cube build following CUBE UPDATE and CUBE COMMIT steps:
(TR3801) IBM Cognos Data Server error fetching .mdp sub-files for PowerCube 'Powercube_Name'
(PDS-PCT-0041 PowerPlay Data Server cannot read the data cache. The version information may be missing. (Open Data Cache)).
Symptom
Cube build was able to successfully read all data sources and perform consolidation steps. Error occurs when writing to Powercube output to MDC\MDP files.
Cause
Unable to delete or overwrite Powercube MDC\MDP files in the Powercube output directory.
Resolving The Problem
Ensure the user running Transformer has full permissions to the CubeSaveDirectory in the Transformer preferences or change the location to one with full permissions. The CubeSaveDirectory path can be found in the cube build log file header.
This Preference can be specified in Transformer:
File > Preferences > Directories tab.
Define the path in PowerCubes field.
Or in the <Transformer_install>/configuration/cogtr.xml
