Troubleshooting


Problem

This document addresses an issue seen when logging into Cognos after patching Linux servers where Cognos will not go past the login page after selecting the LDAP namespace and typing in credentials.
The error present is AAA-LPS-0005 Unable to communicate with legacy namespace server, it may have become unavailable. Please try again later.

Symptom

  1. Generating cryptographic information passes
  2. Testing namespace fails from Cognos configuration
  3. Testing logging onto the namespace passes.
  4. The LDAP logs shows no errors.
  5. The cognos logs are showing Errors.
  6. All other components using the LDAP work fine

Resolving The Problem

There are 2 parts to solve this issue:
Part 1
  1. Navigate to Configuration->Certs within your Cognos directory.
  2. Delete the CAMKeystore.jks file.
  3. Restart your server to rebuild the keystore.
Part 2
1. Copy over the certs.db, secmod.db and key3.db files to the Cognos server from the working components.
