Problem
How to regenerate cryptographic keys on a standalone Framework Manager or Transformer machine
Symptom
For any CAM-CRP errors on Framework Manger or Transformer, you may have to regenerate cryptographic keys ONLY on the standalone Framework Manager or Transformer machine
Cause
Cryptographic keys on FM and Transformer can go bad and out of sync with the Cognos Analytics Server and hence need to be regenerated.
In certain scenarios if you change the FM and Transformer standalone configuration, you may require to regenerate the keys
Environment
STANDALONE Framework Manager or Transformer which is installed on a user workstation that does not include any Cognos Server Components in the same dir as FM or Transformer
Resolving The Problem
1. Open the Framework Manager or Transformer standalone configuration and note the 2 uri
-- Gateway URI
--Dispatcher URI for external applications
To make sure these are correct verify them against the configuration of the Cognos Server which hold the same URI
Both these URI are found on the Application Server/Dispatcher (if no external gateway/webserver is used) ELSE the Dispatcher uri is found in the Cognos Gateway config and the Congos Gateway uri is found in the Dispatcher config.
Both these uri are not found in the Content Manager ONLY machine.
Example:
Gateway URI : http://Webservername:80/ibmcognos/bi/v1/disp
Dispatcher URI : http://Appservername:9300/bi/v1/disp
Dispatcher URI : http://Appservername:9300/bi/v1/disp
If there is no external Webserver then both the above uri are same viz http://Appservername:9300/bi/v1/disp
Close the config
2. Go to the FM or Transformer install dir
Navigate to the listed dir, backup all the files first and then delete the files
/configuration/cogstartup.xml
/configuration/certs/CAMCrypto.status
/configuration/certs/CAMKeystore
/configuration/certs/CAMKeystore.lock
/temp/cam/freshness
/configuration/csk (This one is a directory to be deleted)
3. Launch the FM or Transformer config again
If it says blank configuration is being loaded. click yes
4. Now add the 2 uri back in the configuration that we noted and verified in step1
-- Gateway URI
--Dispatcher URI for external applications
5. Save the config. (FM and Transformer do not have any service. They are just modelling tools hence only saving the configuration is required)
