"Unable to fetch data for content tree ... ObjectSecurityNoWriteRights" error when users open public views (in PAW) if they have READ access to cube - caused by APAR PH04253

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW). User has READ only permission on the cube.
User tries to open a view. An error appears.
Problem only affects public views.
  • Private views work OK.

Symptom

Cause

Defect (reference APAR PH04253) in Planning Analytics (PA - not PAW).

Environment

Older versions of Planning Analytics, for example: 2.0.6 RTM (no patches).

Resolving The Problem

Fix:
Upgrade your PA version.
Example:
In one real-life example, the fix was to patch from PA 2.0.6 RTM to 2.0.6 IF10.
Workaround:
Grant the relevant user 'write' access to the cube.
