Abstract

This document describes how to download installation images for IBM Spectrum Protect™ for Virtual Environments Version 8.1.8.

Download Description

IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.8 includes the following components and levels:

  • Data Protection for VMware 8.1.8
  • Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V 8.1.8

Maintenance Packages via PTF Distribution website

All IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments v8.1.8 maintenance packages can be accessed using the PTF distribution website.

However, these PTF packages require an existing V8.1.x installation on the machine before applying them because the PTF maintenance packages do not contain the license enablement files required for use of the component. If this is your initial installation of a IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments component on a machine or VM, you should obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online website.

The Passport Advantage Online website has complete images of IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments v8.1.8 for download. The HTTP link in the section "Download package" directs to the Passport Advantage Online website.

Download Package

The HTTP link in the Download Options column below directs you to the Passport Advantage Online website. Passport Advantage is a secure website that requires an account ID and password. It has all of the component and platform images associated with IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.6 available for download.

You can locate images on the Passport Advantage Online website by using the part number as the search query. For example to locate the IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware use as search query CC1F0ML for Windows and use CC1F1ML for Linux.

The FTP link in the Download Options column provided below is to the top-level directory that contains this Fix Pack. The subdirectory structure separates the Fix Pack images by operating system platform, then by available Fix Pack version.

Reminder: These images available via the Data Protection for VMware Maintenance Packages link do not contain license enablement files. You must already have a base level package installed in order to use these packages.
