Troubleshooting
Problem
In a distributed environment sporadic popup errors are present when creating new reports, editing existing reports or creating or editing dashboards. A browser trace shows HTTP 503 response codes.
Environment
Distributed IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.13 environment with several dispatcher.
Diagnosing The Problem
All errors are sporadic. If the environment is restarted, the error rate eases out:
- Network trace returns HTTP 503 response codes for requests containing /startupconfig and /fmmodels
- cogserver.logs shows errors on Load Balancing
- Popups with "The server request failed" errors in Authoring
Resolving The Problem
Upgrade to IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.13 FP001
