Why is it that after executing the Flatten Hierarchical Groups GUI option, hierarchical groups in the Group Builder are not merging with the child groups?
I would expect that when I view the hierarchical group that the child groups members would be listed, instead I only see the child group name seen below.
Answer
This behavour is expected, you will not see the child group members in the hierarchical group after the execution of the Flatten Hierarchical Groups.
When the child groups have been updated it does not automatically update any associated parent group but if you look at the parent group there is no indication that this is incorrect. This is why you need to schedule the flattening of hierarchical groups, to have the parent group updated for changes made to its child groups.
