Troubleshooting


Problem

This MustGather Technote lists the information that must be collected to troubleshoot TM1 Application Tier Crash where WebSphere Liberty Profile (WLP) is part of the environment.

Resolving The Problem

Gather the following information to troubleshoot a TM1 Application Tier Crash:

  1. Environment information::

    1. TM1 Web version

    2. Operating System version

    3. Server hardware specification, i.e. CPUs and RAM

  2. Java System Core and Java Thread Dumps:

    1. Java System Core(s) can be found in the \tm1_64\bin64 folder on the TM1 Application Tier, i.e. core.########.######.######.####.dmp (where the hashes indicate a unique timestamp and OS process identifier)

    2. Java Thread Dumps (e.g. javacore.########.######.######.####.txt) that can be found in the same folder as the Core (.dmp) file(s)

  3. TM1 Web logs and configuration:

    1. The tm1web.log file that can be found in the \tm1_64\webapps\tm1web\WEB-INF\logs folder

    2. The tm1web_config.xml file that can be found in the \tm1_64\webapps\tm1web\WEB-INF\configuration folder

  4. Garbage Collection Logs:

    1. If GC logging is enabled refer to the jvm.options file, that is located in the \tm1_64\wlp\usr\servers\tm1\ folder, for the -Xverbosegclog output location

    2. GC logging should be enabled for future occurrences see the following instructions
