Troubleshooting
Problem
When attempting to access an IBM Cognos Anlaytics environment via the gateway or dispatcher URI, the user is presented with an Invalid Login Response Error.
A AAA trace reveals the following message on the login attempt:
CAM-AAA-0036 Unable to authenticate because the credentials are invalid
Diagnosing The Problem
Issue applies to non-SSL environments.
To check that you are having the same issue as the one described in this document, enable Anonymous authentication through Cognos Configuration to ensure that the issue does not lie with the namespace configuration. If the issue persists, then this could be the cause of it.
To enable Anonymous Access, follow these steps:
- Launch Cognos Configuration
- Select Security -> Authentication -> Cognos in the explorer tree window
- In the Properties window, change the value for Allow Anonymous Access to False
- Save the configuration, and restart the Cognos service.
Resolving The Problem
This issue is caused by an incorrect setting in the Cookie Settings.
Ensure that the Secure flag is not enabled. Follow these steps to ensure this is set to False:
- Open the IBM Cognos Configuration
- Click on Action menu from menu tab
- Click on Edit Global Configuration...
- Ensure that the Secure flag enabled? property is set to False.
