Abstract
This issue occurs when using the InfoSphere MDM Machine Learning Assisted Data Stewardship technical preview feature. When searching for a data steward task in the Process Duplicates view, the "Task Id" search field shows a different behavior depending on the browser being used by the data steward. This is a known issue that is minor in nature and has no consequence. The difference in behavior is explained in this article.
Content
When searching for a data steward task in the Process Duplicates view of the Machine Learning Assisted Data Stewardship technical preview, the "Task Id" search field shows a different behavior depending on the browser being used.
-
When using Chrome, the input field "Task Id" allows only integers to be entered. Alphabetical characters are blocked and will not appear in the input field. This is the expected behavior.
-
When using Firefox, alphabetical characters can be entered into the "Task Id" field; however, any strings that include alphabetical characters are not considered to be valid input for that field. This is shown by the underlining bar of the field that switches from magenta to red. In addition, the Clear button will remain disabled. Although you can still click Search button, the search query will ignore the invalid Task Id entry and simply return the tasks corresponding to the other entered search criteria ("Task Type" and "User or group"), as if no Task Id was entered.
-
When using Internet Explorer, the behavior is the same as in Firefox, except that the underlining bar for the field does not switch to red.
