Question
Which versions of Java™ are packaged with IBM® Rational® ClearQuest®? How do you determine the version of Java installed with ClearQuest?
Answer
The following is a summary of the Java Runtime Environments (JRE) that are shipped with ClearQuest.
Summary of ClearQuest versions and embedded JREs | ||
ClearQuest version | Operating System | JRE Version |
7.1.x | All | IBM JRE 1.50 |
7.0.1.x | All | IBM JRE 1.42 SR7 |
7.0.0.1 - 7.0.0.x | All | IBM JRE 1.42 SR6 |
7.0.0.0 | All | IBM JRE 1.42 SR2 |
2003.06.00 - 2003.06.16 | Windows | Sun 1.4.1 |
AIX® HP-UX Linux® Solaris® | Sun 1.3.1_02 |
Note: Java 1.6 (Java 6) is not supported at this time.
On a Windows installation, the Java JRE is located in the directories by default:
- 2003.06.x and 7.0.x:
C:\Program Files\Rational\Common\java\jre\bin
- 7.1.x:
C:\Program Files\IBM\RationalSDLC\common\Java5.0\jre
On a UNIX® installation, the Java JRE is located in the directory:
- 2003.06.x, 7.0.x, and 7.1.x:
/opt/rational/common/java/jre/bin
To determine the locally assigned Java version, open a command prompt, and navigate to the Java JRE directory. Type the command: java -version and press the ENTER key.
For example, the Java version in the ClearQuest 7.1 release returns:
java version "1.5.0"
