The IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA must be installed by qualified service personnel only. Arrange installation through IBM Integrated Technology Services or a reseller who is authorized to provide warranty service on IBM eServer xSeries 445 servers.

Affected configuration
  • The system may be any model of the IBM eServer xSeries 445 server, type 8870.
  • The system is configured with the following option(s):
    • an IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter, option part number 09N7585, replacement part number (FRU) 36L9912
    • an IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA, option part number 13N0382, replacement part number (FRU) 73P9246
Additional information

The IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA must be installed by qualified service personnel only. Installation of the option hardware in your IBM eServer xSeries 445 server during base warranty hours is included in your purchase. Base warranty service on the eServer xSeries 445 server is provided 9 hours a day, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Installation outside of base warranty hours can be arranged with your local installer at an additional charge. Arrange installation through IBM Integrated Technology Services or a reseller who is authorized to provide warranty service on xSeries 445 servers.

  • In Asia-Pacific countries, Europe, Middle East, or Africa, call your local call center or IBM HelpCenter.
  1. When you call, state that this is an installation request for a non-customer setup option.
  2. Do not place the call as an emergency repair request.

Use the following information to record service time:

service code 33 to record service time against MES number 8870RSA.

(EMEA/Canada/US use service code 33.)

In some Asia-Pacific countries, service representatives might need to enter the following code in the MES/ECA field:

8870RSA.
