Remote Supervisor Adapter (RSA) fails to send e-mail.

When an event is generated, the Remote Superviser Adapter (RSA) fails to send an e-mail notification.
The system may be any of the following IBM eServer xSeries servers:
- an xSeries 345, type 8670, any model
- an xSeries 342, type 8669, any model
- an xSeries 335, type 8830, any model
- an xSeries 335, type 8676, any model
- an xSeries 255, type 8685, any model
- an xSeries 235, type 8671, any model
- an xSeries 232, type 8668, any model
- an xSeries 225, type 8647, any model
- an xSeries 220, type 8646, any model
- an xSeries 220, type 8645, any model
- an xSeries 205, type 8480, any model
The system is configured with the following options:
- IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter, option part number 09N7585, replacement part number (FRU) 36L9912.
- IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II, option part number 59P2984, replacement part number (FRU) 02R1654.
The system has the symptom described above.
Rename the system identifier in the RSA interface to exclude any spaces.
By default, the RSA uses a space in the identifier. The space is recognized as an invalid character by the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) used for e-mail and the alert can not be sent. Renaming the system to exclude the space allows the e-mail and the alert to be sent.
