Resolving The Problem

Overview

IBM Storage Configuration Manager is a system management application that enables you to use a Web browser to manage and configure IBM BladeCenter devices. Managed devices include the following:

• IBM BladeCenter SAS Connectivity Module
• IBM BladeCenter S 6-Disk Storage Module
• SAS Expansion Card for IBM BladeCenter
• IBM BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module
  

Note: Except where specifically stated otherwise, the term "SAS Switch" refers to the Serial Attached SCSI Connectivity Module for IBM BladeCenter products in a BladeCenter unit.

IBM Storage Configuration Manager uses Web-based standards. It can be installed to be accessed from a standalone Web browser. IBM Storage Configuration Manager runs as a Web server that communicates with the managed device. You can connect to IBM Storage Configuration Manager from any host on the network using one of the following Web browsers:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x, 7.x or 8.x
• Mozilla Firefox 2.x or later

Version 2.20.0

Problems Fixed:

• SCM Manager for BladeCenter SAS Connectivity Module has new fixes applied.

Enhancements:

• SCM Manager for BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module has new features added to support firmware version 1.2.x.x.

Limitations:

• SCM Manager for ServeRAID MR Controller Module has been removed in this release.
• SCM Manager for Integrated RAID Controller has been removed in this release.

Dependencies:

• IBM Director 6.1.x and 6.2 is not required and specifically cannot be on same machine with SCM 2.20.0 standalone.
• IBM Systems Platform Agent 6.1.x and 6.2 cannot be on same machine with SCM 2.20.0 standalone.
