Problem

When installing the Microsoft Windows x64 Operating System on this system, during the text setup mode, setup fails to detect the hard drives installed in the system and the install will stop.

Resolving The Problem

Symptom

When installing the Microsoft Windows x64 Operating System on this system, during the text setup mode, setup fails to detect the hard disks installed in the system and the install will stop.

Affected configuration

The system may be any model of the following IBM eServer servers:

  • IBM eServer 326 with Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives

The following network operating system is affected:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Enterprise Edition (Beta)
Solution

Download drivers (v1105) from http://www.siimage.com and press F6 at beginning of text setup mode to install drivers for the SATA controllers.

Additional information

The drivers for the SATA (Sii 3512) controller are not in the operating system.
