Abstract
Product specifications and features for the IBM 100/200 GB LTO Half-High Tape Drive
Content
General information
The IBM 100/200 GB Linear Tape Open (LTO) Half-High Tape Drive is an attractively priced, entry offering into LTO technology. It provides a new benchmark for mid- to high-end IBM eServer xSeries and Netfinity servers requiring high-capacity, high-performance, and high-eliability tape solutions in a 5.25-inch, half-high form factor.
Using its onboard hardware data compression feature, and assuming a 2:1 compression ratio, this drive can store up to 200 GB(1)(2) per cartridge, at a backup rate of up to 54 GB/hr. It delivers solid performance through attachment to a supported 80 MB/s Ultra2 low-voltage differential (LVD) SCSI adapter or onboard controller.
The 100/200 GB LTO Half-High Tape Drive joins the 3600 Series LTO family of reliable tape products. Its high-density, half-high form factor provides a cost-effective internal tape solution to xSeries and Netfinity servers with an open 5.25-inch, half-high bay.
Key prerequisites
Installation requires a supported:
- Ultra2 or Ultra160 SCSI controller
- An available half-high drive bay
At a glance
The high-density 100/200 GB LTO Half-High Tape Drive includes the following features and benefits:
- 100 GB native capacity; speeds up backups and reduces costs by reducing the number of tape changes required
- 8 MB/s native backup rate (27 GB/hr native; up to 54 GB/hr compressed) decreases system time allotted to backups, frees system and IT resources for other tasks
- Space saving 5.25-inch, half-high form factor
- Eight-channel Read-While Write; speeds the operation of the drive and ensures data integrity
- Improved cartridge load mechanism; eliminates dropped leader problems
- Supports either Ultra2 or Ultra160 SCSI controllers
- Supports leading operating systems and popular backup software
- Three-year, limited warranty(3)
