Abstract

Procedures for installing the fan assembly on the xSeries 306 server.

To install the fan:

  1. To install a fan:
    1. Lower the fan into position.
    2. Connect the power cable to the system board.
    3. Install the other fans using the same procedure.
      Note: Arrows on the fan indicate fan positioning and airflow. The correct airflow is from front to rear.

  2. Install the cover:
    1. Position the cover over the server, while aligning the posts on the cover with the cutouts in the chassis.
    2. Slide the cover to the front and secure with the single thumbscrew.
