Abstract
Spectrum Virtualize and FlashSystem 9100 systems using Data Reduction Pools with V8.1.3.4, V8.2.0.3 or V8.2.1.0 may experience I/O timeout events, including self-recovering node warmstarts, due to an issue in the way that large-scale cache flush activities are handled, following an upgrade from an earlier version of code.

Systems using Data Reduction Pools with V8.1.3.4, V8.2.0.3 or V8.1.2.0, that have previously used Data Reduction Pools with an earlier version of code, should be upgraded to a fixed level as soon as possible.
Systems that had Data Reduction Pools enabled for the first time while already running V8.1.3.4, V8.2.0.3 or V8.2.1.0 are not affected by this issue.
Fix
This issue was fixed by APAR HU01918 in V8.1.3.5, V8.2.0.4 and V8.2.1.1.
