Abstract

MaaS360 app for Apple Watch

Content

MaaS360 releases its first version of Apple Watch app, allowing the users to manage emails and calendar on the go. With this new app, users can seamlessly view emails, respond to emails, and view calendar events. Note: After you enable the MaaS360 app on Apple Watch, the content is automatically synced from your iOS device to the Apple Watch. 

Enabling MaaS360 app for Apple Watch in MaaS360 portal

To enable the MaaS360 app,

1. Navigate to Security > Policies > Persona Policy > WorkPlace > Security.

2. In Configure Other Settings section, provide key value pair in Advanced Configuration Details field.

  • Key: WatchExtensionEnabled
  • value: yes

Installing MaaS360 app

To show MaaS360 app on Apple Watch,

1. Open the Watch app on the device > tap the MaaS360 app > enable Show App on Apple Watch.

Setting a PIN

If a passcode is enforced for Apple Watch, MaaS360 allows users to set a 4-digit PIN.

To set a pin,

1. Open the MaaS360 app > Settings > PIN. The PIN Settings screen is displayed.

2. Tap Set/Change Watch PIN and set a 4-digit PIN.

Using the MaaS360 app for Apple Watch

The first version of the MaaS360 app for Apple Watch supports the following features:

Accessing emails

Open the MaaS360 app on Apple Watch and then click Mails to view emails in the following folders:

  • Inbox
  • VIP
  • Unread
  • Flagged

Note: MaaS360 syncs a total of 20 emails from the iOS device. Only the emails from the primary account are synced. The emails are displayed in the plain text format. 

Responding to emails

Users can open an email and send a reply to the sender. You can use one of the following options compose an email:

  • Voice commands - The speech is automatically translated into text.
  • Scribble
  • Quick-text suggestions
  • Smilies

Accessing calendar events

Users can view the events for the next 7 days in the Calendar view. Users can use the Digital Crown to view the events in the future. 

The app shows the events on the current date by default. Tap the blue bar (that shows the total number of events on the current date) to view all the events scheduled for the current date.

Note: Users cannot take any action on the events.
