Release Notes

Abstract

Support to propose a different meeting time

Content

MaaS360 now allows attendees to propose a different time if the meeting invite conflicts with another meeting on their calendar. The feature also allows the organizers to see all proposed times for all attendees and change the meeting time to one of the proposed times.

Note: The feature is only supported on Exchange 2016+ and Office365 servers that use the new ActiveSync 16.1 protocol.

For attendees

A new option to propose a different meeting time is displayed when the attendees either decline or tentatively accept the invite.

For organizers

  • An email notification is sent whenever a new time is proposed by an attendee.
  • All the new time proposals are displayed in the meeting invite.
  • The organizer can change the meeting time to one of the proposed times.

Limitations

  • Requires Office 365 or Exchange 2016 with the latest Cumulative Update (EAS 16.1 only)

  • Proposing new time on entire recurring series is not supported by server protocol. Users can only propose new time on an instance.

  • You cannot propose an all-day time as a new time. However, when the organizer edits the event they may choose to make the event all-day if they so wish.

  • Only attendees can propose new times. Only organizers can see information about proposed times and change the time of the meeting.

  • New time proposals are only officially supported between recipients that both use the above servers. e.g. Proposing new time between Gmail/Traveler/old Exchange and new Exchange is not officially supported and may not work.
