What is the impact on Guardium software appliance and agents due to Oracle's Java Subscription change?

Question & Answer

Question

As of January 2019, Oracle has implemented new Java SE Subscription changes. Does this impact Guardium appliances or the agents like GIM, STAP etc.?

Answer

  1. This subscription does not impact Guardium appliances, as IBM Java is used in the Guardium appliances.
  2. Guardium does not ship its client side products like GIM, STAP etc with Java.  Customers must obtain Java and use it according to their license model.
