Problem

Users are unable to log in to Planning Analytics for Excel

Symptom

The following error occurs:

The operation has timed out
System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out

Resolving The Problem

This particular timeout message occurred because of a blocked port between the TM1 Application Server (where PMHub is running), and the TM1 Admin Server. 
To resolve the problem, the TM1 Admin Host port 5898 had to be opened to allow the TM1 Application Server to communicate directly to the TM1 Admin Server via REST.
