Question & Answer
Question
Can I co-manage a Windows device with both SCCM and MaaS360?
Answer
Co-management is a Microsoft idea that is relative to their branded products. To manage a device with both SCCM and MaaS360, we will alter it a little to say they "coexist."
So, a simple answer is yes MaaS360 can live and function on devices that have SCCM on it.
There are a few pre-requisites that are needed in order for this to happen, they are:
- Version of SCCM must be 1710 or greater
- Version of Windows 10 must be 1709 or greater
- A registry key must be set to allow the device to be externally managed;
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Enrollments] "ExternallyManaged"=dword:00000000
- InTune can not be on the machine.
- A device can not be managed by 2 different MDM offerings
- It would preferable if the device was NEVER enrolled with inTune.
Before attempting, please make sure that the users involved are not tied to inTune in any way whatsoever, or it will try to force enrollment with their program rather than MaaS360.
