Release Notes
Abstract
Inherit end user notification settings and app distribution settings from Partner account
Content
From 10.66 release, MaaS360 allows new customer or partner accounts that are created under a Partner account to inherit following settings.
- End user notification settings
- App distribution settings
The attributes that are enabled or disabled for these settings in Partner account are replicated and inherited to the customer and partner accounts that are created under this parent Partner account. On logging in to these partner or customer accounts, you can edit these settings if needed.
Note: Partner can specify distribution as "None" or "All devices" for an app and this setting is inherited to the child partner and customer accounts. However, if an app distribution at Partner account is set to a particular device group, then the inherited app distribution to customer and partner accounts is set to "All Devices". This is the expected behavior.
End user notification settings
From Setup, select End User Notification Settings under Services & Settings. By default, all email notification settings are enabled for a Partner account. Enable or disable email notification settings as needed and Save the settings. For example, App Management and Critical Actions Completion Alerts are enabled.
Create a customer trial account 'customer account-12' from Accounts page under this Partner account as illustrated in the image.
Now, log in to trial customer account 'customer account-12' and navigate to End User Notification Settings page. You see that App Management and Critical Actions Completion Alerts are enabled. These settings are inherited from parent Partner account as illustrated in the image. The end user notification settings are applicable only for an end user. These settings do not restrict administrator email notifications.
App Distribution settings
From App Catalog page, add and distribute apps to devices as need. Consider following app distribution:
Example Apps | App distribution in parent Partner account |
Marvel | New app added and distributed only to Android at parent Partner account level as illustrated in the image. |
Snapchat | Existing app and distributed to all devices. |
Messenger | Existing app with no distribution. |
Create a customer trial account 'customer account-15' from Accounts page under this Partner account as illustrated in the image.
Now, log in to trial customer account 'customer account-15' and navigate to App Catalog page. You see the following app distribution settings inherited:
Example Apps | App distribution behavior in partner and customer accounts created under parent Partner account |
Marvel | Distribution to all devices. Although in parent account the distribution is only for Android device groups, the inherited distribution for customer and partner accounts is for all devices. This is the expected behavior as illustrated in the image. |
Messenger | No distribution. The inheritance is same as in parent Partner account. |
Snapchat | All devices. The inheritance is same as in parent Partner account. |
