Abstract
Support for Complex Numeric passcode restriction
Content
MaaS360 adds support for complex numeric passcode restriction in Secure policies to allow the administrators to enforce a passcode containing numeric characters without repeating or consecutive numbers like 1111 or 1234. This feature is available for Android MDM and Android Enterprise policies.
To enforce a complex numeric passcode restriction,
1. Navigate to Security > Policies.
2. Click Device Settings > Passcode and then select Numeric Complex in the Passcode Quality field.
Impact on Device Management settings
The Numeric Complex passcode is also applicable to Device Management settings in Policies > Device Settings > Device Management. The unlock device passcode value must be compliant with passcode settings such as Passcode Quality and Minimum Passcode Length. For example, if Passcode Quality was set to Numeric Complex, administrators must provide a numeric complex passcode that does not have repeating or consecutive numbers in the Unlock Device Passcode field.
- If Enforcement Action after Disabling Device Management is set to Lock Device, administrators must provide a complex numeric passcode in the Unlock Device Passcode field.
- If Action When Out of Compliance is set to Lock Device, administrators must provide a complex numeric passcode in the Unlock Device Passcode field.
If a numeric complex passcode is not provided in the Unlock Device Passcode field, an error message is displayed on publishing the policy.
