Steps

MaaS360 allows you to remotely deploy the latest software updates to supervised iOS devices.

Determine if the device is eligible

MaaS360 is only allowed to push iOS updates to Supervised devices such as DEP enrolled or enrolled using Apple Configurator 2 with the Supervised option enabled. 

1.  Lookup the desired device in the Admin Portal and select the device record or select the View option under the Device Name

2.  To confirm if your iOS device is Supervised, please select the Summary drop down menu and choose the Security and Compliance option

Push iOS update for an iOS device
Once the MaaS360 sends the command please reference this guide for updates from the device level: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/maas360?topic=maas360-installing-ios-updates-device
If the device has a passcode, the user must unlock the device in order to allow the device to download the software update. After the download is completed, the user is prompted to start the installation immediately or defer the software update.

Result: On the device, iOS software update is downloaded and a prompt is displayed to Install Now or Later. If no action is performed, after 10 seconds the iOS update is installed on the device. If Later option is selected, then user can install the downloaded iOS update version when needed from Software Update page in the device.

Note:  If no iOS updates available for devices, following screen is displayed.
