Problem
After CCC client has been installed, it is not possible to check or change the connection details. How can this be checked?
Symptom
In the CCC log the following may be seen, so one has to check the connection details:
Service cannot be started. System.Exception: Failed to start. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The remote computer refused the network connection.)
at SccServerService.SASServer.OnStart(String[] args)
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)
Resolving The Problem
Launch Regedit and find this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IBM\Cognos Command Center\Install]
Look for these 2 entries:
"DbSqlServer"="<SQL_Host_Name>"
"DbSqlName"="<Database_Name>"
