Troubleshooting

Problem

When creating a Data Source for IBM Secure Gateway, on Planning Analytics Administration, the above message is reported.

Environment

IBM Secure Gateway

Planning Analytics Administration

Source is Microsoft SQL Server and named instance, as oppose to the default instance.  (servername:instance_name)

Resolving The Problem

Create the data source using the database server IP address AND the Microsoft SQL Server instance tcp port #

You can find that port # from Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager, open the instance in question, select tcp/ip and use the tcp port # defined for this named instance.

In PAA (Planning Analytics Administration) AND in the ACL file (on the IBM Secure Gateway Client server), the data source will read as IP:tcp port.

Once you have made those changes, restart the IBM Bluemix Secure Gateway Service and test the data source.
